A family favorite my famous chocolate cake
Ingredients :
- 2 cups of sugar
- 1 and 3/4 cup of all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup of Hershey’s cocoa
- 1- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1-1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1/2cup of vegetable oil
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup of boiling water
Directions :
- Heat oven to 350
- Grease and flour 2 9 inch round cake pans( I use bakers joy to spray my pans)
- Combine all dry ingredients in large bowl
- Add eggs ,milk ,oil and vanilla
- Beat on medium speed 2 min.
- Stir in boiling water*batter will be thin so don’t panic.
- Pour in prepared pans
- Bake thirty min. or until wooden tooth pick comes out clean.
- Cool completely before frosting
- Use your recipe for cream cheese frosting
- I make mine by just mixing two packages of softened cream cheese
- 2/3 cup of cocoa around 3 cups of powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- Add enough vegetable oil to chocolate to make a smooth creamy paste.add all these ingredients
- No need to add milk unless the frosting becomes grainy then only add one tablespoon
- This is my recipe I conjured up in my head
- And I tweek it until it looks like I want it to look or if you have a recipe for your favorite icing you can use it but it’s better with cream cheese
