Nutty Orange Coffee Cake

Nutty Orange Coffee Cake
I have been making this for years. Great for brunch with the family, a gals get together, or for the family down the street! This recipe is so easy, even the kids can do it! The house smells wonderful while making it! Always puts me in the Christmas spirit, even when its not Christmas!!

Ingredients :

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • zest from 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1–4 pack of canned biscuits, (not Grands)
  • use 2 cans/20 biscuits
  • 1 stick butter melted
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, cut in 20 pieces
  • Place each square of cream cheese
  • in middle of each biscuit.
  • Glaze
  • 1 cup confectioners sugar
  • 2 T. juice from the orange

Directions :

Step 1 :
  1. In a bowl, mix the sugar, orange zest and the pecans.
  2. Cut the block of cream cheese into 20 pieces, messy job but someone has to do it.
  3. Place a cube of cream cheese in the center of each biscuit and seal in a moon shape.
  4. Dip in butter and roll in the sugar mixture.
  5. Begin placing each biscuit in the bottom of your sprayed bundt pan.
  6. Pour the remaining butter over the biscuits and bake on 375* for 20 minutes until brown.
Step 2 :
  • Make the glaze with the cup of confectioner’s sugar and the juice of 1 orange.
  • Time to take the coffee cake out of the oven and invert onto a plate.
  • Pour the glaze over the hot cake.
  • As it cools a bit, the glaze becomes all crusty with each bite is filled with cream cheese.
  • What could be better than that.
